V Guerrilla: Correction they are not a wholly owned sub of Seiko. They are however partially owned by the same conglomerate called Epson. Seiko has zero input or involvement in the day to day of Orient.

Erad Negan: whats funny is you have moby's porcelin playing in the background...10 minutes earlier i was listening to it on here!

Rodrigo M: I got the newer 2n gen Orient Ray 2. I like that they removed the date crown and made it a cleaner look. They also made it hackable and windable with a new in-house movement. Good review. Hope you get a chance to review the Ray 2. Regards!

Mihai Bumbulici: orient!Un ceas superb,un mecanism precis!

Bob Oliver: any updates on this watch

MrOllium: The back looks like two dolphins I think ...

Adrian Gozali: I have an Orient Anchor FEM7L003B Black Bezel and Black Leather Strap
I've been using it on vacation, on wedding photography jobs, on outdoors harsh photo hunting.. And I can tell you it is still good looking as new. Everything is rigid and comfortable. Orient is super nice, I can tell you that.

Carlos De La Cadiz: Great looking dive watch.Great watch company too.

datsunmadman: I own an Omega's, Tag heuer, Longines's and few Seiko. That watch never leaves my wrist. I wear it daily

Darrin Nunyah: Orient watches rock.  I have the Bambino, the Sun and Moon, and the Mako XL.  All quality timepieces.

RobReports: I got this one, and I like it more than my other watches, this is my cheapest watches. Excellent quality. After 6 months the only thing I can say is that the bracelet scratches easily , the watch doesnt...

robbiecox: Solid links, hollow end links.

Vigilante Driver: All my Orients have a wobble that you can feel while winding.  I think that wobble is so darn cool.  I hope yours have the wobble too.

Reggie McKinnon: Orient. The best little known brand. I have the Mako and it's a great watch. I plan on getting one of these in the future.

Great review.

sunset: Well done on the review. It is good to know that one does not have to spend alot to buy a nice timepiece. The Ray, Mako, and Mako XL are all very nice watches. As per Orient, they do not recommend to use this watch to scuba dive. That is why is does not have a diver's extension. {Unlike your Black monster which is ISO certified diver.} Regardless, it is still a very nice watch. I may add one to my collection one day.

Andy Farrell: "Indicie"

the word you're looking for is "index" ;)

Allen Sandusky: Ordered the black ray with the bracelet today from Long Island Watch. My 64th birthday present. I will wait until 3/19 to open the box. I also ordered the rubber strap to alternate looks. Is it difficult to change straps? Thanks for the review.

Chicxulub65M: That is a beautiful watch. Looking at the model number, the tag shows a "9" at the end that is not on the link to the watch at Long island Watch. Is there a significance to the last "9"?

jjguitarez: Thanks for the review... I own both the Makos and the Rays in various sizes and colors.. I believe they are a different series altogether... Notice the indices on the Makos are lines, and on the Rays, they're (round) dots.. I've also been very impressed with both their build and finish quality, and I can add that their links are solid, thus the weight, especially on the Mako XLs.. They can contend with the Seiko Monsters range in terms of beauty and accuracy.. Anyway I'll look forward to your next review in 6 months' time.. Cheers!
