Did this video help you?

fernie castillo: As an electrical engineering student, I really appreciate your videos. Thank you for your time.

MrCorby4: Hi Bruce I have a similar dvr but with a internal 2s which sucks. I can fit a 3s but dont want to fry it. I opened it up and took a couple of pics. I dont know much about these things ,but from what you pointed out it about the power circuit. i think i can . Its a skywing dv701. Is there some way i can send you the pics so you can take a look before I plug it in? Thanks for your time.

Eddie CJ: Hello! I have a question for you since you're a heck of an expert when it comes to getting down to the science behind anything RC, there's a raging debate on my club forum regarding ESC wire lengths. The argument is that if one were to extend the wires on their ESC's from let's say 8 inches to 16 inches, it can damage the ESC, I'm guessing not, it's not enough change in resistance, unless you're drastically increasing the length. Thank you!

Nuubster: is that wrong voltage read problem fixable ?

James Caperelli III: In your tear down of the device did you ever find the battery for the real time clock and if so is it replaceable? My Skyzone DVR never kept time and date accurately since day one. I know typically that is not the battery, but rather poor design or bad / cheap component tolerance. But on the outside chance...

tiiams: All I got on mine was a black screen and a blue light any advise?

Marco Lopes: Awesome review. Thank you!

OutbackKanga: Extremley Dissapointed with this .
Pros are the reception on this is good and the view is very clear , but thats where it ends.
Cons .. The battery hatch is too small to be of any real use .
The Bitrate for the record is so low in quality that you cannot even freeze the pic without complete blurr.
The record function is almost usless it is that poor quality .
$35.00 dvrs from Ebay produce better results.
You cannot plug into the av out without it killing the screen .

Eddie CJ: Hello! as usual your reviews are superb! if i may pose a question regarding this screen which i also own, mine did come with an ON/OFF switch on the back though, i use it with my phantom 2 and the  zenmuse gimbal, i use the DJI Osd mini and fatshark TX, my issue is that my OSD info is on top of the data from the screen which it displays, screen battery power, etc. i only want my OSD mini flight data on the screen, its confusing when 2 sets of info are over each other on the screen. is there a solution for this? thank you!

deerhunt007: Hi Bruce. They have listened to one of your suggestions and installed an on and off switch now. But the sun shield is still shiny. I bought my Skyzone 700 from Banggood.

HotDoggable77: I very recently purchased the Skyzone 700D.  Some differences I've noticed since the making of this Video.  On/Off switch added to back.  Voltage discrepancy is now 0.3v-0.4v.  Reboot will occur on 2s battery when OSD shows 7.2v, if ignore voltage is selected then reboot does not occur and continues to run, I ran it to 6.8v on OSD then decided that was enough for the battery.  Actual battery reading:  7.2v .

Dave Roche: I was considering an antenna tracker until I saw the price. How can I organize a diversity receiver to work for each pole on the compass, so I don,t need the tracker?

Oscar Thorpe: the battery compartment says "batteny", with a letter N

J.JONES FPV: Will this monitor work with a iLook camera?

gfracerx: **UPDATE** I bought one a few weeks ago. Finally opened it up and noticed it DOES now have a power switch on the back! :-)

Power Max: They should use germanium diodes! the voltage drops are only 0.2V and less reverse-bias leakage than Schottkys. I wish they were more popular!

Power Max: I would use 4 18650's! it looks like those will fit much better, and the turnigy brand ones that are 2600mAH are very cheap, about $6 per cell, vs something like $30 per cell for AW or panasonic batteries. I use them with my Skyray king with no problems.

Van Huynh: Just received an updated version (purchased from Foxtech 11/11/2014). Some of the Cons mentioned have been rectified. Now there is an ON/OFF switch on the back, the voltage monitoring accuracy is alot better (8.1 v -monitor read 7.8v=0.3v).The "bleep, bleep "sound is still there though.
Thanks to reviews like Bruce and other feedbacks, good manufacturers Skyzone do listen and address the probs.

jrcampen: Bruce have you done a part 2 yet? The big "con" issue is the screen turns off when you plug in your goggles. How dumb that there is no switch to choose to turn it on or off for that. I tried to hack AV out the jack and soldered some wires on to bridge the jack switches, but I still couldn't get it to work so both were on. I must have something connected the wrong . I see on RCgroups most people had the same complaint with this monitor.   Bruce any chance you can look at how to do this hack? Thanks also for all the fantastic video reviews. I now watch them instead of watching TV in the evenings.

hunchbacked: What's really critical with these drones, it's the wind; when there is a strong gust of wind, it can take your drone away, and you can't help it; it has happened to me, and it's only with the GPS localization that I could find it, because I didn't know where the wind had forced it to land (and it could not take off, because the grass had blocked its propellers).
