Paul Bruce: I used to be front-squatting a decent amount of weight on a barbell. Now that I'm starting with calisthenics, I'm doing simple bodyweight full squats (9-12 reps, 4 sets), trying to be mindful of form (particularly glute activation) and trying to increase the ROM when I can.  And the next day, I was INCREDIBLY sore. It's amazing what calisthenics can do for the lower body. And when you're progressing through lower body calisthenics, you focus on unilateral work, which demands MUCH greater balance.

Rain Chua: Hi Al, this question struck my mind. Does pistol squats need good form as well? For e.g. usually for squats we recommend that our knees should not be in front of the feet (when you bend) as it is bad for the bones in the long run, does this apply to pistol squat as well?

blackjohnny0: Weight are also dangerous. I have spine problems because of weight training and yes, i was doing warm up, stretching and i was workingout with good technique.
